08 Jan Romans 5:3-4
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
Have a brother whose wife is going through serious illness, over lunch I went to a quiet place with my bible and prayed for them privately. The Lord impressed this verse for them, I was hesitant to send as this verse can be very difficult for someone in the thick of suffering. How can we glory in our suffering when we are about to lose a loved one. Anyway I did send the verse.
Later on in my own wilderness journey, this verse always reminds me that in our suffering it produces perseverance which produces character (the type of character that God wants us to have; the type He is molding us into) and this process focuses on Jesus Christ who is our eternal hope.
