27 Apr Christ-Confidence Before Self-Confidence

In this wilderness journey I became less and less self-confident. Self confidence without God is this belief that the self is sufficient and that we are in control.

Self confidence with God is a confidence in our God given abilities and talents, our God given network and hardwork etc etc.

Christ confidence is confidence in Christ, His sovereignty and His faithfulness.

When we let Christ confidence leads our self confidence, we allow our confidence in Christ to lead and combine with our God given talents and abilities to perform excellence in His will.

When self confidence leads, it may lead to striving and self reliance (and non-reliance on God)

On the other hand, true Christ confidence does not lead to passivity or lukewarm-ness. The character of Christ is neither passive nor lukewarm.
