23 Sep Book of Haggai
Was feeling very overwhelmed by work and ministry. The urgent trip back to Singapore and bouts of sickness of ourselves and children added to the busyness of life.
On the flight to Bali for our vacation, I took the chance to read the Word. Was reading book of Haggai.
Was reminded that “Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?” (Haggai 1:4). Was reminded that the priority is to build the house of the Lord, i.e. the body of Christ that is people.
However it was Haggai 2:4-5 that encouraged me, “But now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord. ‘Be strong, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the Lord Almighty. 5 ‘This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’
The word work is clear. The work is hard but we need to know that the Lord is with us. That’s our encouragement and comfort.
